4 years ago, almost to this date, I decided to bring laser cataract surgery to Nevada. This innovative technology provided Nevadans the most advanced and accurate treatment for cataract surgery.
When I was asked to perform intraocular miniature telescope (IMT) on Ms. Shems to help her see despite being legally blind from macular degeneration, it was clear that combining these two advanced techniques would provide her the best chance at seeing again. She had the surgery 2 days ago with absolute success. On day one, she was full of smiles and determined to make this lens work for her. She will be going through vision therapy over the next few weeks and we are all eager to see her progress.
